Energy Assistance
Residents can apply for energy assistance
Township residents may be able to receive energy assistance to help pay for outstanding heating and cooling bills, following the release of $100 million from the bipartisan infrastructure law into the Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LiHEAP). This is the first of five $100 million yearly installments into the program. These dollars, combined with American Rescue Plan and regular LiHEAP funds total $8 billion in heating assistance dollars made available in the past 12 months. For information on Michigan’s LiHEAP and Home Heating assistance programs, visit the MDHHS website.
